How Bare Hearts Help Children Grieve

It can be difficult for children to verbalize or talk about their feelings.  When a loved one has died, it’s important for children to grieve so they can begin the healing process.  Bare Hearts help children say goodbye to a loved one and begin to heal in the following ways:

Bare Hearts can provide a therapeutic activity for those in hospice care. Whether writing notes or providing sentimental items to place inside Bare Heart, the experience gives peace of mind and closure to the dying person while providing lasting memories for children and family members.

The messages and memories placed inside Bare Hearts will forever connect children to their loved ones.

Bare Hearts actively engage children in the healing process as they express their feelings through writing letters and drawing pictures.

Bare Hearts are comforting keepsakes that children can hold, hug, snuggle with and even talk to so that they can remain forever connected to their loved one.

Bare Hearts encourage family members to share and express their feelings with one another; this sets a good example for children on how to cope with grief in a positive way.

Children need the affirmation that it is okay to grieve and remember their loved one who has died.  Bare Hearts encourage children to share special memories about their loved one.

Bare Hearts remind children that even though their loved one has died they will never stop loving them.
